I'm the creator of Malah Photo
and I live in beautiful Vancouver BC.
During the day, I work as videographer, photographer and web developer for Parks Canada.
When I’m not photographing landscapes or furry friends, I’m photographing human subjects enjoying the outdoors in Canada's most prestigious locations.

In the beginning I was drawn to photography purely as a way to capture nature's beauty. Over ten years ago I secured a job working for Parks Canada as a full-time photographer, videographer and web developer. What a dream! I get to go out into the wild and capture stunning landscapes, natural anomalies and rare animals.
What I didn’t foresee was that my favourite part of the job would be photographing humans in the wild! I grew to adore the time I spent photographing couples and families enjoying nature's beauty.
Those photos of families quickly became more special to me than any landscape or sunset image I'd taken. I realized that my calling was to photograph raw and real families in beautiful landscapes.
So why am I an outdoor family photographer?
Why don't I stick to stunning landscapes and furry friends?
Why do I photograph outdoors?
When I take families out to beautiful places and we start to move our legs and feel the sun, (or the rain in Vancouver!) I see their eyes get big and their smiles become wide and authentic.
The fresh outdoor environment gives my clients an amazing boost of vitality and raw beauty! I love the way that families look fresh and natural under the open sky.
You bet! I have an undergraduate degree in Digital Arts from Concordia University (Montreal, QC).
My education gave me an appreciation for fine art and taught me how to be critical of my work. I learned how to be self-critical to produce the best possible product for my clients! Over the last decade, I’ve grown a passion for creating photographs which share joy, beauty and a story.

What "kind" of photographer are you?
I am what I like to call "easygoing but GO." I understand that some things are out of our control… the weather, traffic, diapers that need to be changed, missing shoes… and that’s okay! I take care of any issues I can, I assure you it's not a big deal (because its not) and then we move on and take some amazing photos!
Before I became a full time digital media specialist for Parks Canada, I worked in childcare. So I know how to hand out juice boxes and connect with shy kiddos.
I give you and your family the help you need to be the best natural version of yourself. Trust me I know a fake smile when I see one!
- I am fully vaccinated.
- I recognize I am photographing on the unceded territories of the The xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples who are the original inhabitants of the unceded land which is now known as the city of Vancouver.
- I am grateful everyday as a settler that I get the opportunity to walk, play and photograph on these lands.
- I am an active ally of the LGBTQIA community and love my numerous clients from this community!
I think everybody deserves to make memories and feel beautiful no matter where they are in life. It’s important to have photos on the wall to remind us where we’ve been and what we’ve done. Photos make our past real.
